A Mississippi man, James Fulgham, 31, has been arrested in connection with the shooting deaths of his girlfriend, Zina Williams, 36, and her 7-year-old son, Zaccheus Williams. The bodies were discovered inside a burning mobile home in Forest, Mississippi. Firefighters responding to a house fire found the victims with gunshot wounds.
Authorities identified Fulgham as a suspect in the case and apprehended him in Lauderdale County. Witnesses reported seeing Fulgham leaving the scene in Zina Williams’ car, which was later found in his possession. Both Fulgham and Zina Williams worked at a Tyson Foods plant and lived together in the home near Forest.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Zina Williams was shot once, while her son was shot at least three times. Neighbors reported hearing an argument between Fulgham and Zina Williams, followed by gunshots. It is believed that the child may have become a victim after hearing the initial gunshot and calling out in fear.
Fulgham is currently in custody at the Scott County Sheriff’s Office. The specific charges he faces and whether he has legal representation are currently unknown. The investigation into the shooting deaths of Zina Williams and Zaccheus Williams is ongoing.
