Missing Persons Case in Glencoe, Oklahoma, Turns into Homicide Investigation

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) has announced that a missing persons case in Glencoe, Oklahoma, has now turned into a homicide investigation. Samuel Cade Crawford, 21, was last seen at Bill’s Corner in Morrison on August 29, 2023, at approximately 4:15 p.m. On September 4, the Noble County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the OSBI, leading to a joint search effort involving the Payne County Sheriff’s Office, Stillwater Police Department, and Noble County Sheriff’s Office.

During an aerial search conducted on September 8 using an Oklahoma National Guard helicopter, portions of Crawford’s truck were discovered in Glencoe. Subsequently, a search warrant was executed on the property, where agents found a deceased male. The body has been transported to the Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for positive identification and determination of the cause of death.

Based on information obtained through the investigation, the OSBI has arrested and booked 21-year-old Christopher Michael Somers into the Payne County Jail. Somers faces charges of First-Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Larceny of Motor Vehicle, Knowingly Concealing Stolen Property, and Operating a Chop Shop.
