Police in Whittier, California, are searching for 19-year-old Andrea Vasquez, who was shot and abducted from Penn Park on Sunday. According to the Whittier Police Department, Vasquez and her boyfriend were in their vehicle in the parking stall area of the park when an armed suspect approached and fired a weapon in their direction. The boyfriend managed to flee the gunfire, but he discovered blood near the vehicle upon his return, and Vasquez was missing.

Vasquez’s sister, Edlyn Vasquez, made a plea on Facebook for the public’s assistance in locating her sister. She mentioned that Vasquez’s last known location was Moreno Valley, approximately 50 miles east of Whittier Park. The family is deeply concerned for Vasquez’s well-being and is hopeful for her safe return.

Described as a funny and beloved individual, Vasquez had an interest in cosmetology and worked with her sister, a lash artist. The family is unaware of any potential motive or suspects involved in the incident.

Andrea Vasquez is 5-foot-3, weighs 103 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black long-sleeve crop top, khaki pants, and black low-top Converse shoes. She has tattoos of her sister’s name, Edlyn, on the back of her neck, an Aries constellation on the top of her right hand, and a belly button piercing.

Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Detective Jose Bolanos at 562-328-8504, Detective Tom Nordbak at 562-244-0054, or the tipline at 562-567-9299. The Whittier Police Department is actively investigating the case.
