In a disturbing incident at the Randall’s Island shelter, a migrant identified as Oscar Adrian Al Ordonez launched a violent attack on a security guard who intervened in a domestic dispute between Ordonez and his wife. The incident occurred on Monday morning within the tent city that provides temporary housing for asylum seekers.
According to sources, the 24-year-old aggressor was engaged in a heated argument with his wife when the 40-year-old security guard stepped in to defuse the situation. However, tensions escalated rapidly as Ordonez unexpectedly struck the guard, scratching his face and neck, and even biting his head. In self-defense, the guard retaliated by punching Ordonez in the face, resulting in visible bruising and bleeding on the assailant’s cheek.
Law enforcement promptly took Ordonez into custody following the altercation. Both parties involved declined medical attention. This incident follows a recent violent brawl at the same shelter, where a mob attacked security guards, leaving one migrant with a stab wound and four guards injured.
