Michigan State Representative Neil Friske, who was recently arrested for allegedly assaulting a stripper, has vehemently denied any wrongdoing and insists that he was framed. Friske, known for exercising his 2nd Amendment right, was taken into custody on June 20 after an incident involving an exotic dancer from the Deja Vu Showgirls Club near his residence in Lansing.
The police, upon investigating the matter, have requested the prosecutor to file three felony charges against Friske, including sexual assault, assault excluding sexual, and weapons-related offenses. However, Friske has been released without charges for the time being, as the investigation remains ongoing.
In his first interview following his release, Friske expressed confidence that the investigation would ultimately exonerate him. He claimed that the events leading up to his arrest were suspicious and indicated a setup orchestrated by his enemies. Friske’s campaign had previously suggested that the timing of his arrest was “highly suspect” and potentially linked to polling conducted on his race against his opponent, who allegedly has ties to the “deep state.”
During the interview, Friske made vague references to an unidentified individual who he believes orchestrated his arrest. While it remains unclear who he is implicating, it is worth noting that his GOP primary competitor, Parker Fairbairn, endorsed by Michigan Representative Jack Bergman, could be a potential target of suspicion.
Despite calls for him to step down or suspend his campaign, Friske remains defiant, stating that he will not do so as he believes it is not what God wants him to do. He maintains his innocence and questions the integrity of those who would engage in such tactics to tarnish his reputation.
The Lansing Police Department has declined to release video footage or documentation related to the incident, citing the need to protect ongoing law enforcement investigative proceedings.
