Married Father of Two Killed in Baton Rouge Bar Fight

A tragic incident unfolded in Baton Rouge over the weekend as a married father of two lost his life during a violent bar fight. Devin Michael Repath, a 26-year-old Louisiana resident, was fatally struck during a fistfight at Fred’s Bar near LSU’s campus in the early hours of Saturday morning. The altercation left Repath unconscious, and he was immediately rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, Repath succumbed to his injuries and passed away early Tuesday morning, as confirmed by Baton Rouge police.

The East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office has determined the manner of death as a homicide caused by blunt force trauma, according to reports from WAFB. As the investigation unfolds, authorities are diligently reviewing surveillance footage and tracking down all individuals involved in the fatal altercation. Baton Rouge police chief TJ Morse revealed that the fight initially erupted inside the bar before spilling out into the parking lot, during an unrelated press conference on Monday.

Repath’s family disclosed that he was in town to celebrate a friend’s bachelor party, as reported by WAFB. The devastating loss leaves behind a grieving wife and two young sons. In response to the tragedy, a GoFundMe page has been set up to support the Repath family, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming love and support received during this challenging time.

East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore acknowledged the ongoing investigation, stating, “There’s a lot of unknowns right now. We’ll have to wait and see what the facts and evidence show the proper decision should be,” as quoted by WAFB.
