Maple Grove Man Kills Woman and Her Daughter Before Taking His Own Life at Breezy Point Resort Home

A tragic incident unfolded at a resort home in Breezy Point, Minnesota, where a Maple Grove man shot and killed a woman he was in a relationship with and her daughter before taking his own life. The Crow Wing County Attorney’s Office identified the deceased as Melanie Michele Jansen, 54, Hannah Nicole Parmenter, 29, and Michael Charles Toner, 59.

On Tuesday evening, a Breezy Point police officer responded to a 911 call made by Jansen’s 28-year-old son. He reported seeing two people on the floor and blood at the residence located at 8094 Whitebirch Drive in Breezy Point’s Whitebirch Resort. Upon arrival, the police discovered the bodies of all three individuals with apparent gunshot wounds.

Autopsies revealed that Jansen and Parmenter had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, with their deaths classified as homicides. Toner, on the other hand, was found dead from a single gunshot wound to the head, indicating a suspected suicide.

Based on preliminary investigations, authorities believe that Toner shot the two women before turning the gun on himself. The investigation is ongoing, but there is currently no evidence suggesting a threat to the public. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office are assisting the local police in their investigation.
