Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Murdering Girlfriend in Pasco County, Florida

Collin Knapp, a Pasco County man, has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his girlfriend, Kathleen Moore. Knapp was found guilty of first-degree premeditated murder by a jury after two hours of deliberations. The sentencing took place in New Port Richey, Florida.

Kathleen Moore, 34 years old at the time of her death, was reported missing in November 2021. Her body was later discovered by Nico Tusconi from “We Are The Essentials” in the woods near Knapp’s home. The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office had built a case against Knapp, citing inconsistent statements and the disposal of bloodstained clothing in a dumpster at a local steakhouse.

During the trial, Kathleen’s close friend Nikki Wallen testified that she was the last person to see both Knapp and Moore alive. Wallen stated that they left her house together, and a few hours later, Moore was found dead.

Karyn Moore, Kathleen’s mother, expressed her relief at the guilty verdict, stating that it brings closure to her family. She also credited the efforts of “We Are The Essentials” in finding her daughter’s body and helping other families in similar situations.

Knapp’s defense attorney mentioned the possibility of appealing the verdict but has not made a decision yet.
