A Monrovia resident, Marcus Allen Corner, 37, was apprehended on Tuesday by Irvine police on suspicion of committing a series of residential burglaries in the west end of the city. The arrest came after Corner, who posed as a food delivery driver, was linked to the crimes through surveillance footage and eyewitness accounts.
According to Irvine police, Corner would carry a food bag while scouting homes, giving the impression that he was making a delivery. This tactic allowed him to discreetly search for unlocked doors and windows, granting him access to the properties. In one surveillance video, Corner was seen carrying a Starbucks bag with a visible receipt, further enhancing his guise as a delivery driver.
Corner has been booked into Orange County Jail on burglary charges with bail enhancements. Detectives are currently coordinating with other law enforcement agencies to determine if Corner is connected to similar cases in their respective jurisdictions. Kyle Oldoerp of the Irvine Police Department revealed that Corner is suspected of burglarizing condos and townhouses throughout Irvine since November. Additionally, video surveillance footage has linked him to four specific break-ins.
In light of these incidents, authorities have advised residents to ensure that their doors and windows are securely locked before leaving their homes. They have also recommended the installation of security cameras as a precautionary measure.

This is absolutely outrageous! How can someone have the audacity to go around committing residential burglaries? It’s a violation of people’s privacy and a complete disregard for their safety and security. I can’t even begin to imagine the fear and anxiety that the residents of Monrovia must have felt knowing that there was a criminal on the loose in their neighborhood.
It’s infuriating to think that Marcus Allen Corner thought he could get away with these crimes. These burglaries not only result in stolen possessions
Did you know that according to the FBI, residential burglaries account for approximately 67% of all burglary offenses in the United States? It’s important to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions to protect our homes and belongings.
