A man identified as James Cole was captured on police body cam footage riding an e-scooter at almost 100 kilometers per hour while attempting to flee from authorities in Canberra. The incident took place in December 2022, as Cole rode down a main road before veering onto a bike path off the highway. This forced cyclists to dismount in order to avoid a potential collision.
Cole, who later tested positive for methamphetamine, has been sentenced to one month in jail.
