Man Fatally Stabbed Near San Jose Community Park

San Jose police are currently investigating a deadly stabbing incident that occurred near a community park on Wednesday afternoon. The victim, a man who has not been publicly identified pending formal identification and notification of his next of kin by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office, succumbed to his injuries after being dropped off at a local hospital’s emergency room.

According to a news release from the San Jose Police Department, officers responded to the hospital around 4:30 p.m. following the report of a man with stab wounds. Subsequent investigations led officers to Spring Street and Taylor Street, east of Coleman Avenue near Guadalupe Gardens, where evidence was found confirming a fatal attack had taken place at that location.

Preliminary information suggests that the stabbing was preceded by a physical altercation, although further details have not been released by the police. The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.

This tragic incident marks the fifth homicide of the year being investigated by the San Jose Police Department.
