Oakland police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old man inside a motel room on Thursday night. The victim’s identity has not been disclosed pending notification of his family. The incident occurred at approximately 11:13 p.m. at the Nights Inn located at 874 West MacArthur Blvd.
Authorities discovered the man deceased from at least one gunshot wound upon arrival. Preliminary information suggests that the victim had been residing at the motel for about a week. The perpetrator had fled the scene before the police’s arrival, and no details regarding a suspect have been released at this time.
