Man Fatally Shot by Police Inside Fontana Home Depot

A man was fatally shot by police inside a Home Depot store in Fontana on Monday evening. The incident began when officers from the Fontana Police Department responded to multiple reports of a man running into a main road on Santa Ana Avenue and Sierra Avenue, seemingly attempting to get hit by a car, according to Officer Steven Reed.

Following the reports, a police pursuit ensued, and the man sought refuge inside a nearby Home Depot located at 16783 Santa Ana Avenue. Armed with an edged weapon, the man was confronted by the police, resulting in him being shot and subsequently pronounced dead at the scene, Reed confirmed.

At this time, the identity of the deceased individual has not been released, and the police have not provided a detailed description of the weapon used or further elaborated on the circumstances leading up to the shooting. No civilians or officers sustained any injuries during the incident.
