Man Crashes Truck Into Santa Rosa Business, Attempts to Purchase Alcohol

A man suspected of driving under the influence crashed his truck into a business in Santa Rosa, California on Wednesday. The driver, identified as 34-year-old Jesus Carreno-Ortiz of Santa Rosa, allegedly failed to slow down his Toyota truck after entering the parking lot of a business on the 2400 block of Dutton Avenue. The truck collided with the southeast corner of the building.

Following the crash, Carreno-Ortiz exited the truck and entered the store, where he attempted to purchase alcohol. Santa Rosa police reported that responding authorities, including the Santa Rosa Fire Department and medical personnel, determined that Carreno-Ortiz had operated the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. His preliminary blood alcohol content (BAC) was measured at 0.32.

Carreno-Ortiz sustained significant injuries from the crash and was subsequently hospitalized for treatment. He has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence with a BAC of 0.08, driving with a suspended license, and contempt of court for disobeying a court order.
