A 23-year-old man from Wildwood Crest, New Jersey, identified as Jason Millar, is facing charges of cruelty to animals after a dead dog was discovered at his residence in Galloway Township. The incident came to light following an animal cruelty complaint that prompted investigators to visit Millar’s home on the 100 block of Zurich Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers were met with a distressing scene as they uncovered the lifeless body of a dog. Further investigation revealed that Millar had been housing a total of 25 additional dogs and one cat in deplorable conditions, with inadequate access to food and water.
On February 10, Millar was taken into custody and subsequently released on a summons, pending a future court date to address the charges against him.
The discovery of the deceased dog and the subsequent findings of the additional animals living in substandard conditions have raised concerns about the welfare of animals in the community. Animal welfare organizations and authorities are expected to closely monitor the situation and ensure the well-being of the remaining animals.
The case serves as a reminder of the importance of reporting suspected animal cruelty and the need for proper care and treatment of animals. As the legal proceedings progress, the fate of the surviving animals will be determined, and justice will be sought for the mistreatment they endured.
