Man Charged in Double Shooting That Killed Duke Graduate Student

A 30-year-old man, Stephon Dubose, has been charged with murder and attempted first-degree murder in connection to a double shooting in Durham, North Carolina. The incident occurred on Monday morning on Worth Street, resulting in the death of Angela Marina Risi, a 30-year-old Duke graduate student, and injuring another woman.

Durham police responded to a call of a gunshot wound in the 1000 block of Worth Street at approximately 7:18 a.m. Both victims were found with gunshot wounds and were transported to the hospital by EMS. Unfortunately, Risi succumbed to her injuries later on.

Stephon Dubose is currently being held without bond in the Durham County Jail. The preliminary investigation suggests that this was an isolated incident. The police are actively investigating the case and urge anyone with information to come forward.
