Man Arrested on Drug Charges and Outstanding Warrants After Jumping Over BART Turnstiles

In a daring act of evasion, a 33-year-old San Francisco resident was apprehended by the Colma Police Department after he brazenly jumped over the turnstiles at the Colma BART Station. The incident occurred on the evening of February 1, at approximately 8:40 p.m., in the 300 block of D Street.

According to the Colma police officers who witnessed the incident, the man deliberately evaded paying for a public transportation ticket, catching their attention. Swiftly responding to the situation, the officers approached the individual and conducted a routine records check.

To their astonishment, the investigation revealed that the man had not one, but two outstanding warrants for his arrest. These warrants, originating from outside the county, included a misdemeanor warrant and a more serious felony warrant. It was clear that this individual had been on the radar of law enforcement for some time.

Taking immediate action, the police arrested the man on the spot. A subsequent search of his person yielded even more troubling discoveries. Among the items found were drug paraphernalia, a suspected controlled substance, and credit cards that did not bear his name. These additional charges further compounded the severity of his situation.

The suspect was promptly identified as a 33-year-old San Francisco resident, whose name has been withheld pending further investigation. He was swiftly transported to the San Mateo County Jail, where he was booked on his outstanding warrants, as well as charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and misappropriation of found property.

The Colma Police Department commended their officers for their vigilance and swift response in apprehending this individual.
