Man Arrested on 22 Felony Charges, Police Seek Potential Additional Victims

A man, identified as Christopher Ballard, was apprehended on Thursday on a total of 22 felony charges, including sexual assault on a child, sexual exploitation of a child, unlawful sexual contact, and obscenity. The arrest was made following the execution of a search warrant at Ballard’s residence in the 600 block of Alkire Street in Lakewood. The operation was carried out by the Parker Police Department, with assistance from the Lakewood Police Department, as stated in a news release.

Ballard, 26, had been employed at the Journey Academy in Centennial since May 2021. Additionally, he was known to frequent the Journey Life Center located in southern Jefferson County. The investigation was initiated after a concerned parent reported the alleged abuse to the Parker police on March 2.

Law enforcement officials suspect that there may be more victims involved in this case. They urge anyone who believes their child may have been a victim or possesses any additional information to come forward.
