Man Arrested in LaPlace, Louisiana in Connection with $2 Million Cocaine Seizure

In a recent development in LaPlace, Louisiana, a 54-year-old man was apprehended in connection with a significant cocaine seizure. Following a probe initiated on Saturday, September 9, 2023, by the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office, around 170 pounds (77 kilograms) of cocaine, estimated to be worth $2 million, was confiscated from his residence, situated approximately 30 miles from New Orleans. The suspect, who has yet to be named, was arrested on Monday morning. He faces felony charges for possession and intent to distribute the narcotics, with bail set at $750,000. The case is currently under further investigation.
