A man has been arrested in Absecon, New Jersey, for allegedly using a drone to dump dye into multiple outdoor swimming pools, causing damage to the pool structures. The incidents were first reported on August 13, when a homeowner on Upland Avenue witnessed a drone dropping a substance that turned their pool water green. The dye used to color the pool at the Quality Inn in Galloway was sea dye, typically employed by sea rescue services due to its fluorescent color.

The drone was tracked back to Comfort Solutions Heating and Cooling, a business located in Galloway Township, with the assistance of the FAA, New Jersey State Police, and Galloway Township Police. The owner of the business, Patrick Spina 4th, aged 45 and a resident of Absecon, has been charged with multiple counts of criminal mischief. He has been released on a summons pending his first court appearance.

Absecon police have urged anyone who may have experienced a similar incident to contact their local police.
