A man was arrested in Raleigh, North Carolina, for allegedly strangling a woman with a used diaper. Robert Edwin Musial, 62, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, was taken into custody on Wednesday at the WakeMed Raleigh Campus on New Bern Avenue. According to arrest warrants, Musial assaulted an elderly woman, who he was a caretaker for, by placing a used diaper around her neck, leaving ligature marks.
In addition to the strangulation, Musial is also accused of engaging in a sex offense with the same woman against her will. The arrest warrants state that the assault took place in a domestic setting.
Musial has been charged with felony assault by strangulation, felony first-degree forcible sex offense, and felony abuse of a disabled or elderly person with injury. He is currently being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in Wake County District Court on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
