Brookline police have apprehended a man suspected of exposing himself to two young women last month and have discovered evidence suggesting the possibility of additional victims. The suspect, identified as Darryl L. Breen, was found to be in possession of handcuffs and a stun gun at the time of his arrest, according to authorities.
Surveillance footage from June 22 in the Coolidge Corner area captured a woman jogging, followed closely by a gray pickup truck belonging to the suspect. Deputy Superintendent Paul Campbell of the Brookline Police Department revealed that the man approached the two women and subjected them to explicit indecent exposure.
On July 14, an officer recognized a gray Dodge Ram pick-up truck matching the description of the vehicle involved in the ongoing investigation. The officer conducted a traffic stop, during which the driver presented false identification. Suspecting the man to be the suspect in question, the officer proceeded to arrest him. Subsequent fingerprint analysis confirmed the suspect’s true identity as Darryl L. Breen, who was also found to have an outstanding arrest warrant in Florida.
In addition to the charges related to the indecent exposure incidents in Brookline, authorities believe that Breen may have been active in the Allston and Back Bay areas. The Brookline Police Department has urged anyone who recognizes the suspect or believes they may have been a victim to come forward and contact the Brookline Police Detectives or the relevant law enforcement agency.
Breen is currently in custody on a 20-day hold and is scheduled to appear in court in early August. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working diligently to identify any potential additional victims.
