Nashuan Hakeem Biggz El, a 45-year-old resident of Roanoke Rapids, has been charged by the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office after leading troopers on a high-speed chase and being found in possession of 34 bags of marijuana. The incident occurred on Thanksgiving Day when Halifax Central Communications alerted authorities about a vehicle pursuit on I-95 south near mile marker 164.
During the chase, troopers observed Biggz El throwing what they believed to be narcotics out of his car window. The pursuit eventually moved off the interstate, with Biggz El stopping his vehicle at the intersection of Bowers Road and Airlie Road near the Airlie neighborhood.
Upon apprehension, troopers handed Biggz El over to a Halifax County deputy. A subsequent investigation led to the discovery and seizure of a total of 667 grams of marijuana, packaged in 34 separate bags.
Biggz El is facing multiple charges, including motor vehicle violations related to the chase. He has been assigned a $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol also filed charges against Biggz El in connection with the vehicle pursuit.
