A man accused of stalking actress Drew Barrymore, Chad Michael Busto, is still at large after he failed to appear for an appointment to be fitted with an ankle monitor in the Hamptons. The Southampton Criminal Department confirmed that a warrant has been issued for Busto’s arrest after he missed the scheduled fitting on Tuesday. Busto was initially arrested on August 24 in Sagaponack, New York, following allegations that he rode his bicycle into residents’ driveways and claimed to be searching for Barrymore’s home. Police stated that previous incidents involving the “Scream” actress led them to suspect Busto of stalking her.

Busto was charged with fourth-degree stalking, a misdemeanor, and was released on August 25. After his release, he spoke to multiple reporters outside the courthouse, claiming to have a connection with Barrymore from their past and expressing surprise that she had not communicated her fear or desire for him to stay away from her before the charge.

This is not the first time Busto has confronted Barrymore. Last month, he verbally accosted her during an event at the 92nd Street Y in New York while she was interviewing actress Reneé Rapp. Both women quickly left the stage after Busto approached Barrymore and made unsettling remarks. An event organizer described the incident, stating that Busto had a ticket for the event and began yelling as he reached the front of the venue. Security promptly removed him from the premises.

Rapp recently discussed the incident on the Jay Shetty Podcast, expressing her unease and describing the encounter as frightening.

Authorities are actively searching for Busto, who remains at large.
