In a shocking incident that unfolded in Harlem, Manhattan, a maniac accused of slashing an 11-year-old girl in the head and assaulting a woman was prevented from facing vigilante justice by the swift intervention of the police. The harrowing events took place on a subway platform on Friday afternoon, moments after the assailant had attacked a woman in the streets nearby.
According to law enforcement sources, the suspect allegedly punched a 43-year-old woman around 2:15 p.m. on East 115 Street and Park Avenue in East Harlem before fleeing to the 116th Street 6 subway train. It was there that he targeted the young girl, stabbing her in the back of the head and cutting her ear as she stood on a downtown platform with her mother.
Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with the young victim visibly scared and crying as she received medical attention near a juice bar. A UPS worker who witnessed the aftermath stated that her head was severely sliced. Disturbing photos obtained by The Post depict one of the blood-soaked victims sobbing as she is transported into the back of an ambulance.
A video circulating on social media captured the moment when the accused attacker was surrounded by police officers, while an outraged mob attempted to take matters into their own hands. In the footage, one individual can be seen poking the alleged assailant with a cane as he cowers behind the protective shield of law enforcement. The crowd’s anger is palpable, with shouts of profanity and demands for justice filling the air. However, the police managed to maintain control and prevent any further violence.
Finally, the 30-year-old suspect, who reportedly has a history of over 20 prior arrests, was taken into custody by the police. Charges against him were pending as of Friday night.
