Man Accused of Faking Death and Sexual Assault Appears in Court

Provo, Utah – Nicholas Rossi, also known as Nicholas Alahverdian, made a court appearance on Tuesday, Feb. 6, after initially refusing to attend. Rossi, who allegedly assumed the identity of Arthur Knight after faking his death and fleeing to Scotland, was originally scheduled to appear before Judge Derek Pullan on Jan. 8. However, a defense attorney informed the court of Rossi’s absence without disclosing the reason.

In response, Judge Pullan ordered Rossi to appear in Utah’s Fourth District Court, granting officers the authority to use “reasonable force” if necessary. Rossi’s name once again topped the docket for Judge Pullan, but this time he appeared virtually, confined to a wheelchair and wearing a breathing mask connected to an oxygen tank.

During the hearing, Pullan read Rossi his charges, to which Rossi continued to assert that he is not Rossi but rather Arthur Knight, the alleged alias he adopted after faking his death and fleeing the country. A new hearing for the Utah County rape charge has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 5 at 1 p.m.

In addition to the charges against Rossi, the state moved to dismiss a misdemeanor sexual battery charge, which Judge Pullan approved. Currently, Rossi faces sexual assault allegations in both Utah County and Salt Lake County. He was initially set to appear before a Salt Lake County court on Jan. 26, but the hearing was rescheduled for Thursday, March 8, with his attorney citing health concerns as a possible reason.

  2. This is absolutely outrageous! Nicholas Rossi, or Nicholas Alahverdian, should not be allowed to make a court appearance after the heinous acts he has committed. It is sickening to think that someone like him could be given any sort of platform to defend himself.

The fact that he is known by two different names raises even more concerns about his credibility and intentions. How can we trust anything he says or does when he can’t even decide on a consistent identity?

    Furthermore, the crimes he
