Brett Camp, 58, who was accused in a Fayetteville rape case from 1995, has been arrested in California. Camp was found living under a fake name in Los Angeles and was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals. He has been extradited to Arkansas to face one count of rape.
According to Washington County officials, Camp is accused of engaging in oral sex with a 12-year-old. Detectives at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office located Camp, leading to his arrest. The original arrest warrant was issued on January 27, 1995, with a bond set at $25,000. However, Washington County Judge Mark Lindsay reset Camp’s bond to $200,000.
Camp has since made bond and is expected to appear in court for his first hearing on September 29 in Washington County.
