LSU Running Back Trey Holly Maintains Innocence in Attempted Murder Case

LSU running back Trey Holly has broken his silence and vehemently denied his involvement in the attempted second-degree murder case he is currently facing. Holly, along with two others, was arrested in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on February 9 in Farmerville, Louisiana. A man was shot in the leg, while a woman sustained critical injuries after being shot three times.

In a Facebook post published on Saturday, Holly expressed his innocence, stating, “I have been falsely identified, accused, and arrested.” He further explained that he was at home when the incident took place and had no involvement whatsoever. Holly voluntarily turned himself in upon being notified of an arrest warrant, demonstrating his willingness to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation.

Due to the ongoing nature of the case, Holly refrained from providing specific details. However, he apologized to his fans for the confusion and assured them that this incident does not align with his character. He expressed his determination to come back stronger and prove his innocence, promising that his story will be told and will be legendary.

In addition to the charge of attempted murder, Holly also faces one count of illegal use of a weapon and one count of aggravated criminal damage to property. Following his surrender at the Union Parish Detention Center last Thursday, he was held on a bond of $512,000. LSU has suspended Holly indefinitely from their football program pending the outcome of the case.

Trey Holly, a four-star recruit, showcased his talent on the field last season, accumulating 110 yards on 11 carries. Notably, he recorded 91 yards during a game against Army on October 21.
