Little Jewel Jewelry Store Robbed of Over $200,000 Worth of Jewelry

The Little Jewel jewelry store on Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado, fell victim to a brazen robbery on Tuesday afternoon. According to the Boulder police, multiple men entered the store and made off with a significant amount of jewelry. Co-owner Dane Brown provided details of the incident, stating that at approximately 1:20 p.m., a man who had limited English skills entered the store and requested to see the wedding bands. The man was on a phone call at the time. Shortly after, three other men stormed into the store, smashing display cases and seizing jewelry. One of the suspects grabbed the lone female employee and covered her mouth, while the others continued their plunder. No weapons were reported to have been seen by the employee.

The financial loss for the locally and family-owned Little Jewel store is estimated to exceed $200,000, as confirmed by Brown. Expressing his feelings of violation, Brown lamented the incident, stating, “We’re here 45 years and they take all your money in 15 minutes.” Boulder police spokeswoman Dionne Waugh assured that detectives are actively pursuing several strong leads in their investigation.

The stolen jewelry includes gold opal, topaz, and amethyst rings, according to Brown. While he was unable to provide a detailed description of the suspects, the store’s surveillance footage has been handed over to the police for further analysis.

  1. I highly recommend investing in a good security system for small businesses like The Little Jewel jewelry store. With the increasing number of robberies, it’s crucial to protect your valuable assets. Look into reputable security companies that offer surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and 24/7 monitoring. It’s better to be proactive and ensure the safety of your business rather than dealing with the aftermath of a robbery. Stay safe and secure!
