Lawsuit Alleges Steven Tyler’s Sexual Assault on Teenage Girl in 1975

A lawsuit filed in New York City Civil Court alleges that rock singer Steven Tyler forcibly kissed and groped a teenage girl twice in 1975 when he was 27 and she was 17. This is the second lawsuit in as many years accusing the Aerosmith singer, whose legal name is Steven Tallarico, of sexually assaulting women as teenagers in the 1970s. The first woman, Julia Misley, sued Tyler in December 2022, alleging sexual assault and sexual battery after meeting him in 1973 when she was 16.

The new lawsuit, filed by Jeanne Bellino and represented by attorney Jeff Anderson, claims that Tyler used his power and influence as a well-known musician to sexually assault Bellino. Bellino came forward after reading about Misley’s case and offered to be a witness. Anderson referred to Tyler as a “sexual predator” during a news conference announcing the lawsuit.

In the lawsuit, Bellino alleges that in the summer of 1975 in New York, she met Tyler and his entourage at a party after a fashion show. Tyler allegedly became irritated by a comment Bellino made about one of his lyrics and forcibly kissed and groped her inside a phone booth. He also allegedly pretended to have sex with her. The incident was witnessed by the entourage, her friend, and passersby who did not intervene.

Bellino fought back and eventually freed herself from Tyler’s grasp. However, he allegedly assaulted her again in the dark lobby of the Warwick Hotel, where he continued to forcibly kiss her without her consent. Bellino managed to escape and was later flung into a cab by the doorman. She ran the rest of the way home, where she collapsed in tears.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and alleges that Tyler caused physical, psychological, and emotional injuries to Bellino. Bellino expressed her desire to support Misley’s account and seek accountability for her own experience.

Attorneys for Tyler have not yet responded to the lawsuit. In Misley’s 2022 lawsuit, Tyler’s attorneys denied the allegations and requested the dismissal of the case.
