Judge Orders Release of Joshua “JJ” Vallow’s Remains to Family Members

A judge has ruled that the remains of Joshua “JJ” Vallow, the 7-year-old child found buried on Chad Daybell’s property in Fremont County, Idaho, should be turned over to his family members. The decision comes after the state of Idaho had been in possession of JJ’s remains. Fremont County Prosecuting Attorney Lindsey Blake and Madison County Prosecuting Attorney Rob Wood filed a stipulation authorizing the release of JJ’s body to his next of kin.

Meanwhile, the remains of JJ’s sister, Tylee Ryan, and another victim in the murder case are still being held by the state. Lori Vallow Daybell, the mother of JJ and Tylee, was found guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit the murder of Tammy Daybell, Chad Daybell’s former wife. She has been sentenced to life in prison in Arizona and is facing additional charges.

Chad Daybell, who also faces similar charges, is scheduled to begin a jury trial on April 1.
