The Union County Prosecutor’s Office is currently investigating an assault that occurred at the Walter E. Ulrich Memorial Pool in Rahway last month. The incident involved a juvenile girl who was at the pool on Sunday, July 22. According to officials, the victim was approached by an unknown man wearing swim trunks around 3 p.m. The man proceeded to assault her.
Authorities have described the assailant as a middle-aged, bald, white male with either blue or green eyes. He is said to be somewhat heavyset and stands between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 6 inches tall. It remains unclear when the assault was initially reported to law enforcement or how long investigators were aware of the incident before seeking public assistance.
The Union County Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Victims Unit is actively searching for the suspect. Anyone with information regarding the assault is urged to contact SVU Sgt.
