Hit-and-Run Driver Fatally Strikes 22-Year-Old in Nutley, NJ

A tragic hit-and-run incident in Nutley, New Jersey has left a family devastated as they mourn the loss of their 22-year-old son, Wiston Perlaza. The incident occurred on Valentine’s Day, and the driver responsible for the fatal collision fled the scene, leaving the family desperate for answers.

Ana Najera, Wiston’s grief-stricken mother, tearfully expressed her longing to have her son back, pleading with the perpetrator to turn themselves in. Wiston’s sister, Natalie Perlaza, described him as having a big heart and being loved by everyone, emphasizing that his life was taken away prematurely.

The accident took place on Milton Avenue, near a Garden State Parkway overpass. Investigators have determined that Wiston Perlaza was struck by a vehicle while he was in the company of a female friend. Distraught and seeking justice, the family implores the responsible party to come forward.

Despite the incident occurring in a residential area, neighbors reported not witnessing the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run. As the family grapples with their loss, they are now faced with the financial burden of arranging Wiston’s funeral. The community has rallied around them, offering support and condolences during this difficult time.

Erick Perlaza, Wiston’s brother, expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support but acknowledged that it cannot bring his brother back. The family is determined to honor Wiston’s memory and has planned a candlelight vigil for the upcoming weekend, followed by his funeral.
