Hayward Resident Arrested for Grand Theft at Colma Business

A Hayward resident, identified as Vincent Herron, was apprehended by the Colma Police Department on February 2 for grand theft at a local business on Colma Boulevard. The arrest came after the business’ loss prevention team alerted the police about a known theft suspect present on the premises. The suspect had reportedly been involved in multiple grand theft incidents at similar establishments across San Mateo County.

According to the police investigation, Herron managed to steal approximately $1,576 worth of merchandise before fleeing the scene in a separate incident. Responding officers patiently awaited the suspect’s exit from the establishment and subsequently detained him. It was discovered that Herron had an outstanding felony warrant from another county.

The 53-year-old Hayward resident was taken into custody and booked into the San Mateo County Jail on charges of grand theft, burglary, and the aforementioned felony warrant. The arrest serves as a significant development in the ongoing efforts to combat theft-related crimes in the area.

The Colma Police Department, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, continues to work diligently to ensure the safety and security of local businesses and residents. The apprehension of Vincent Herron is a testament to their commitment to maintaining law and order within the community.
