A 26-year-old man from Hayward was shot on Monday night in Oakland’s Eastlake district, according to authorities. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, is currently in stable condition at a local hospital, receiving treatment for a gunshot wound to his lower body.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:22 p.m. in the 600 block of East 10th Street. The victim was sitting inside his parked vehicle when an unidentified individual approached him from outside and opened fire, as reported by the police. Despite being injured, the man managed to drive a few blocks away, where he was eventually found by law enforcement.
The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation, and no information regarding the suspect has been released by the authorities. It is unclear why the victim was in Oakland at the time of the incident.
