Gypsy Rose Blanchard Announces Pregnancy with Boyfriend Ken Urker

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, the convicted murderer known for her involvement in the death of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, has announced her pregnancy with boyfriend Ken Urker. The 32-year-old shared the news on Instagram and in a YouTube video titled “I’m Pregnant, My Journey So Far.” The couple posed with sonogram photos and a baby sweater in the Instagram post, revealing that their first child is expected in January 2025.

Blanchard, who met Urker through a pen pal program while serving a 10-year sentence for her mother’s murder, had previously been engaged to him in 2018 but broke up shortly after. She then entered a relationship with Ryan Scott Anderson, a Louisiana middle school special education teacher, and the two got married in a jailhouse ceremony in July 2022. However, their marriage ended in separation, and Blanchard filed for divorce in April.

Following her separation from Anderson, Blanchard reconnected with Urker as friends, eventually leading to a romantic relationship. Blanchard emphasized that their relationship did not begin until after her marriage had ended. She described Urker as a source of support during her emotional hardships and expressed her belief that he would be a wonderful father.

Blanchard’s story gained notoriety due to the severe abuse she endured at the hands of her mother, who had Munchausen by proxy syndrome. In June 2015, Blanchard’s then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, stabbed Dee Dee to death in their Springfield, Missouri home. Godejohn was convicted of first-degree murder, while Blanchard pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and served seven years of her 10-year sentence before being released on parole.

Blanchard’s pregnancy announcement comes as a new chapter in her life, and she has expressed her desire to become a mother. Despite her troubled past, she believes she will be a good mother and sees Urker as a supportive partner in this journey.
