Two gunmen are on the run after a fatal shooting occurred on a subway platform in the Bronx, leaving one person dead and five others injured. The suspects, believed to be in their 20s, remain at large as authorities release the first photos of the individuals.
The incident took place at approximately 4:40 p.m. at the Mount Eden station on the platform of a northbound 4 train. Eyewitnesses reported that the tragedy unfolded following a dispute among a group of teenagers. Two individuals then brandished firearms and fired a total of 10 shots, resulting in the death of a 35-year-old innocent bystander, according to police sources.
The suspects, captured in the recently released photos, can be seen wearing distinctive attire. One of the men is depicted wearing a ski mask, a black jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt, and white and red Air Jordan sneakers. The other suspect is seen donning a black Northface jacket, a gray hooded sweatshirt, a black ski mask covering his mouth, dark pants, and black and yellow Air Jordan sneakers.
In addition to the fatality, a 14-year-old girl, a 15-year-old boy, a 29-year-old woman, and two men aged 71 and 28 were also wounded in the shooting. Fortunately, the five surviving victims are in stable condition and receiving medical treatment at local hospitals.
Following the incident, the gunmen fled the scene on foot, heading northbound on Jerome Avenue towards Featherbed Lane. Law enforcement authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting or the suspects to contact the NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline.
