Gunman Identified in Attempted Assassination of Former President Donald Trump

The gunman responsible for the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump has been identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, according to sources familiar with the investigation. The incident occurred during an outdoor rally held at the Butler Farm Show grounds in Butler, just outside Pittsburgh. Crooks, a resident of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, positioned himself on the roof of a manufacturing plant approximately 130 yards away from the stage.

During the rally, Crooks fired shots from an AR-style rifle, one of which grazed Trump’s ear. The Secret Service, acting swiftly, neutralized the threat by eliminating Crooks with sniper fire. Authorities later recovered the weapon used in the attack.

The motive behind Crooks’ decision to target the former president remains unclear at this time. Investigators are diligently working to uncover any potential connections or motivations that may have led to this violent act.
