Girl Scout Troop Robbed During Cookie Sale at Fort Worth Walmart

A Fort Worth Girl Scout troop fell victim to a robbery while conducting a cookie sale in front of a Walmart store earlier this month. The incident occurred on February 11 at approximately 2 p.m. at the Walmart located on Clifford Street in Fort Worth, Texas.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, a male suspect, believed to be between 18 and 24 years old, approached the Girl Scout cookie stand. The suspect, who was wearing a gray hoodie and a black beanie, casually walked past the table. Seizing an opportunity, he swiftly reached behind the table and snatched the bag containing the troop’s earnings for the day. Without hesitation, the suspect fled towards the parking lot.

Surveillance cameras positioned towards the store’s entrance captured the entire incident. The footage shows customers passing by the table covered with a green cloth, displaying an array of cookies. Behind the table stood a Girl Scout and an accompanying adult, while a shopping cart filled with boxes of cookies stood nearby. The video reveals the shock and disbelief on the faces of the Girl Scout and the adult as they watched the suspect make his escape.

The Fort Worth Police Department is actively investigating the incident and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. Detective C. Magallon is leading the investigation and can be reached at 817-392-4837. Individuals with any information related to the case should reference case number #240311437 when contacting the police.

The Girl Scout troop, whose members were left stunned by the incident, is now working to recover from the financial setback caused by the robbery. The community is encouraged to support the troop by purchasing cookies at other upcoming sales events.
