The mother of Shani Louk, a 22-year-old German national who was reportedly kidnapped by Hamas fighters during an attack in Israel, has confirmed that her daughter is alive.
Louk, a tattoo artist, was attending the Tribe of Nova music festival in the plains of the Negev Desert near Urim when Hamas militants stormed the event on Saturday. Her mother, Ricarda, initially feared her daughter was dead after receiving a video showing Louk unconscious in a car following the kidnapping. Despite not showing her face, Louk’s family identified her through her dreadlocks and tattoos.
On Tuesday, Louk’s family announced that they had received information from unnamed Palestinian sources confirming she was alive. According to German news website Blick, her mother stated that Louk is currently in a hospital in Gaza with serious head injuries. Ricarda has appealed to the German government for assistance and swift action, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.
