Georgia Sheriff Kristopher Coody pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of sexual battery on Monday. The charge stemmed from an incident in which Coody groped TV Judge Glenda Hatchett at a hotel bar during a law enforcement conference in January 2022.
Hatchett, known for her appearances on courtroom reality shows and her representation of Philando Castile’s family in a lawsuit, described feeling violated and powerless after the incident.
Coody was sentenced to a year on probation, fined $500, and ordered to perform 400 hours of community service. He also resigned from his position as Bleckley County Sheriff, which he had held since 2017. The case was resolved in Cobb County State Court.
