HOUSTON, Texas — A Frontier Airlines pilot, identified as Seymour Walker, was taken into custody on the tarmac at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston. The arrest, conducted by the Houston Police Department, occurred just before the Dallas-bound flight was scheduled to depart on Thursday, Aug. 1.
According to airline officials, Walker was wanted on an assault family violence warrant issued by the Department of Public Safety. The Houston Airports System confirmed that the arrest warrant was executed at approximately 4 p.m.
As a result of the pilot’s arrest, the flight was immediately canceled due to the unavailability of a replacement crew member. Frontier Airlines offered affected passengers the option of a full refund, credit, or a reservation on the next available flight. Additionally, the airline provided hotel accommodations and a $100 flight voucher, if necessary.
Houston police stated that Walker was arrested without incident after all passengers had deplaned.
