Fresno Man Sentenced to 45 Years to Life for Shooting 10-Month-Old Baby

Marcos Echartea, a Fresno man, has been sentenced to 45 years to life in prison for shooting a 10-month-old baby in the head.

The incident occurred in June 2019 when Echartea attempted to flirt with the baby’s mother at a house party in Fresno. As the mother and her child were leaving, Echartea fired multiple shots at their vehicle, resulting in the baby being struck in the head. Fortunately, the baby survived the shooting, and the mother was unharmed.

Echartea was found guilty of several charges, including attempted murder, in June.
