French Rapper MHD Appeals 12-Year Jail Term for Murder Conviction

French rapper MHD, whose real name is Mohamed Sylla, has filed an appeal against the 12-year prison sentence he received for the murder of a young man in Paris in 2018. The victim was rammed with a car and subsequently attacked by a mob, resulting in his death. MHD’s lawyer, Antoine Vey, confirmed the appeal.

Five other defendants involved in the killing were also sentenced to jail terms ranging from 10 to 18 years. Four of them have also appealed, while one defendant remains at large.

Three additional men were acquitted of the murder.
