Four Arrested in Texas for Running Forced Labor Scheme from Home

Four individuals have been apprehended in Princeton, Texas, for orchestrating a forced labor operation that has left the local community in shock. The arrests were made after authorities discovered fifteen women living in a seemingly ordinary house on a quiet block during a welfare check. The women were found sleeping on the floor when not engaged in labor, as reported by Fox 4 News.

The residence, devoid of furniture except for blankets, contained an abundance of computers and other electronic devices, according to the police. The investigation was initiated after a pest control company responded to a call regarding bedbugs at the location. The inspector’s affidavit revealed that each room housed three to five young females sleeping on the floor, with a significant number of suitcases present.

Chandan Dasireddy, 24; Dwaraka Gunda, 31; Santhosh Katkoori, 31, all residents of Melissa, Texas, and Anil Male, 37, from Prosper, were arrested in March and charged with human trafficking. Authorities determined that the women were forced to work for Katkoori and his wife’s programming shell companies. A subsequent search of the premises uncovered numerous laptops, cell phones, printers, and fraudulent documents. Further investigations revealed that the forced labor operation extended to multiple locations in Princeton, Melissa, and McKinney, involving numerous victims, including adult males. Additional electronic devices and documents were seized from these locations.

Princeton Police Sergeant Carolyn Crawford stated that over 100 individuals were involved, with more than half of them being victims. Law enforcement anticipates further arrests in connection with this case. Princeton Police Chief James Waters described the unique circumstances that led to the discovery, stating that investigators unraveled a multitude of clues and scenes related to the operation.

The revelation of such an operation occurring in their neighborhood has left residents stunned. Neighbor Herbert Logan expressed disbelief, stating, “I would’ve never thought that something like this was going on like a few houses down from mine.” Another neighbor, Steven Watkins, admitted to being completely unaware of the situation, remarking, “What was going on before we even moved in here? It’s kind of really dark to think about.”
