Former Vegas Resort Manager Faces Felony Charges over 3K Fraud

Brandon Rashaad Johnson, a 38-year-old former operations manager at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, is facing 15 felony charges over allegations of diverting over $773,000 of hotel refunds to a personal account for luxury expenses. The scheme, spanning from July 2022 to July 2023, was uncovered after a coworker alerted the hotel officials, initiating an investigation.

Johnson was arrested on September 1 and remains in custody, with a bail hearing scheduled for Monday, September 11, to clarify the source of the $100,000 intended for bail. The charges encompass theft, computer crime, and money laundering. Both MGM Resorts International and Johnson’s defense attorneys have yet to comment on the case. The police report cites lavish expenditures, including purchases at high-end stores such as Louis Vuitton and Versace.
