The message referenced Psalm 109:3–8 and expressed gratitude to Trump for taking the arrows intended for others. Trump, who is facing a 34-count indictment related to alleged hush money payments, shared the note and expressed his appreciation.
Trump’s post coincided with his appearance in a Manhattan court for a hearing in the criminal case against him. The judge ruled that the case would proceed to trial on April 15. The charges against Trump include allegations of falsifying business records to conceal payments made to former porn star Stormy Daniels and others, regarding claims of extramarital affairs during the 2016 election. Trump has pleaded not guilty and denied any wrongdoing.
Throughout his legal battles, Trump has maintained that he is being unfairly targeted and has referred to his charges as a “badge of honor.” He has accused his opponents of political persecution and interference in the election process. Trump’s fan highlighted Psalm 109:3–8, which speaks of being surrounded by words of hatred and being falsely accused.
The Biden-Harris campaign swiftly criticized Trump for invoking Jesus, pointing out that he spent the weekend golfing and made false claims about his financial status. Trump has actively courted evangelical voters since his entry into politics in 2015.
In a separate case, Trump achieved a significant victory when a New York appeals court agreed to lower the bond he was required to post for his appeal in a $454 million civil fraud judgment. The court reduced the amount to $175 million and granted him a 10-day period to fulfill the requirement.

Jesus Christ was a religious figure who faced immense suffering and sacrifice for the greater good of humanity. On the other hand, Trump’s legal troubles are a result of his actions and decisions as a political leader. It’s important to separate religious symbolism from political realities and not trivialize the significance of Jesus’ sacrifice by making such comparisons.
