Former Georgia beauty queen Lindsay Shiver and her suspected lover, Terrance Bethel, appeared in a Bahamas courtroom alongside an alleged hitman, Faron Newbold. They are accused of conspiring to murder Shiver’s former husband, Robert Shiver, a former Auburn University deep snapper. The hearing, which took place in Nassau, was postponed until December at the prosecution’s request, as they have not yet completed the Voluntary Bill of Indictment (VBI). Shiver’s attorneys opposed the delay, emphasizing her status as a foreign national with three children who should not have to wait months to be reunited with them.
Shiver, released on $100,000 bail in August, must wear a monitoring device and adhere to certain restrictions. These include not leaving her Bahamian home between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., reporting to the Cable Beach Police Station three times per week, and maintaining a distance of 100 feet from her husband. Police uncovered the alleged murder plot during an investigation into a separate case involving a break-in at Grabbers Bar & Grill in Great Guana Cay. Authorities discovered WhatsApp messages between Shiver, Bethel, and Newbold, which allegedly included a photo of Robert Shiver with the words “Kill him.”
Shiver’s attorneys maintain her innocence and state that she is fully cooperating with the legal process. They emphasize her priority of ensuring the well-being and welfare of her three young children. This court appearance marked the first since her release on bail.
