Florida Woman Arrested for Alleged 120-mph High-Speed DUI and Assault on Officer

A Florida woman, Brittany Bianchi, 31, was arrested on Saturday night following an alleged incident involving a drunken high-speed joyride, according to police reports.

The incident unfolded at approximately 8:30 p.m. in St. Petersburg when a Mercedes, driven by Bianchi, was reportedly spotted traveling at 120 mph in a 55 mph zone on the Gandy Bridge. Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) initiated a traffic stop.

During the stop, Bianchi allegedly resisted arrest and attacked a Florida Highway Patrol trooper by clawing at the officer with her fingernails. The FHP described her actions as “violent.”

Furthermore, this marks the third DUI offense for Bianchi within a decade, as confirmed by FHP.

In addition to the DUI charge, Bianchi faces multiple charges, including resisting an officer with violence, battery on a law enforcement officer, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, and driving without insurance.

Footage of the traffic stop provided by FHP captured Bianchi shouting, cursing, and making derogatory remarks toward troopers. She expressed confidence that none of the charges would stand in court.

Following her arrest, Bianchi was taken to the Pinellas County Jail, and online records indicate her bond was set at $17,800. She was subsequently released the following Sunday morning.
