Five Dead in Targeted Shooting in Sampson County

Authorities in Clinton, North Carolina are investigating the deaths of five individuals discovered shot in a home shortly after midnight, as per a statement from the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office. The deceased, spanning diverse ethnicities and ages ranging from the 30s to the 80s, comprised one woman and four men. The connection among the victims is yet to be established, and their identities are being kept confidential pending family notifications.

The case came to light when an unidentified 911 caller, who had spoken to one of the victims earlier, visited the residence and stumbled upon the bodies. As investigations intensify, led by the sheriff’s office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, no suspects or persons of interest have been identified.
